What a night we had in Brum celebrating the life and music of one of the most gifted and powerful musicians of our time... Chris Cornell.
The Hammer and Anvil was bustling, with people traveling far and wide to pay respect to a man who has been the soundtrack to many of our lives. Third Angle Projection got things started off with their catchy blend of grunge, with many people who had not heard them before commenting on how good they were. Crimson Star then followed their lead, offering their hard rock originals blended with some Soundgarden classics.
I was on the door for the night and I have to say, I have never been so nervous before a gig in quite a while. It felt such a responsibility to do Chris a justice and also for everyone in the crowd who had come to hear his music played live. killer BOB took to the stage and we played an extended set of our own songs with an array of Soundgarden including; Fell on Black Days, Drawing Flies, Outshined, Seasons (acoustic solo cover), Birth Ritual, Spoonman and Jesus Christ Pose. The crowd were on fire and it was such an incredible night, I was on a high for quite a while after!!
Thanks to everyone who came down, and the new friends we made. We hope to see you real soon at another killer BOB special event!
